Growing your WordPress with email marketing campaigns

Email campaigns are essential in your business development strategy. We will give you four key tips to improve your email marketing campaigns.
Growing a business on your WordPress website isn’t easy. It requires daily time and effort to build an efficient communication and marketing strategy. Today, more and more companies are omnichannel and desire to reach their audience by diversifying their media.
One of the most effective ways to reach customers or target customers is to use email marketing. That’s why 64% of B2B marketers declare that their email marketing strategy was effective to reach their business goals in 2021.

Key tip 1: Define your campaigns / Set your objectives

Before even writing a newsletter or an email marketing campaign, you need to define what your main objectives are. Whatever it might be, grow your audience, sell a new product, announce a new article on your blog, you need to clearly know what message you want to convey to your recipient. Be precise, don’t forget that setting one clear objective is way more efficient than trying to send a newsletter with several.
Before even writing a single line you need to ask yourself :

  • What is the goal of this newsletter/email?
  • Who do I want this campaign to reach?
  • Who are the people who will receive my email?

Knowing your audience will increase your efficiency and it will also help you to set your KPI. As you know what you are aiming for, it is easier to know what might be the key numbers that will define the campaign success.

Key tip 2: Design is key

You can never make a second first impression, neither does your newsletter. That’s why you need to work on your design carefully.

Your header is the first thing your audience will see when they will open your email. It needs to be colorful and to contain a title that perfectly summarizes your email subject. The header might be the only thing that your audience will see from your email so you need to make them as powerful as possible.
On the other hand your footer might be the last thing that your audience could witness  from your email. It adds a structure and it allows your audience to clearly identify the end of your message. As the header, it must be perfectly designed, to end on a good note.

Less is more:

One of the most common mistakes made when designing an email marketing campaign is trying to put too many pointless visuals into it. We know that it seems tempting to create a beautiful email but don’t forget what your main goals are. Too much visual information can distract your recipient from the message you want to deliver. Each visual must have a purpose. A newsletter or email marketing needs to be sharp or your audience might want to just skip your message without even reading it.

Key tip 3: Call to action

Most of your content is supposed to trigger an interaction, actually, it must be. In 2022, 91% of consumers are searching for interactive content. Despite this statistic only 17% of marketers provide it.
During an email marketing campaign it is complicated to get interaction with your audience. Unlike social media where it is way easier to generate interaction with your audience by provoking emotions that drive to comments, like or share. However, a call to action can be an effective way to pep up your email marketing content.

A call to action is a marketing term that defines a piece of content intended to induce a viewer, reader, or listener to perform a specific act, typically taking the form of an instruction or directive. Contrary to what one might think, it isn’t necessarily to push a product, it can also be used to share a content, a social media post or to redirect to your website.

Call to actions are essential to your content because it gives your recipient a way to be more active and involved by having the possibility to interact with your content instead of only being passive toward the information.

Key tip 4: Analyze your statistics

After your campaign is sent, your work isn’t over. Every newsletter/marketing campaign can be a way to improve your work and your efficiency. Use data to observe the efficiency of your previous campaigns. Opening rate, click map, money generated, all those data are essential to understand what you did right or wrong. Your statistics will for sure allow you to send a more efficient campaign next time and the one after.
Stats allow you to keep improving and to become day after day a better email marketer.
